140 Proof Announces

Age Verified Targeting for Social Ad Campaigns

Alcohol Brands Enjoy Expanded Access to Age-Verified Social Ad Tools

Today 140 Proof announced the launch of Social Age Verified Targeting for its premium social ad campaigns, allowing brand advertisers to target their social advertising campaigns only to people of legal drinking age. Social Age Verified Targeting works seamlessly, without requiring an added verification step for users.

"Today's audiences are used to discovering news and content through their social feeds, and for them, social is now the web," says Jon Elvekrog, 140 Proof CEO. "Marketers need to find new ways to reach people outside of branded websites, and by that token the social environment needs to adapt to the needs of brands."

Social Age Verified Targeting helps alcohol brands advertising in social reach only people of legal drinking age. The 140 Proof Relevance Engine assesses each user's age verified status by checking the user against a database of previously confirmed users. Users who aren't in the database are excluded from the potential audience for the ad. This method has a hidden user experience benefit, because it doesn't require users to double-verify their age. "Social Age Verified Targeting is a straightforward but hugely beneficial tool," said Jason Bond Pratt, Director of Engineering for 140 Proof. "It's another step in our overall mission to serve the right ad to the right person."

Social Age Verified Targeting is automatically included with any new 140 Proof campaign for an alcohol or age-restricted brand. Media planners can learn more about Social Age Verified Targeting or test the program by contacting 140 Proof at hello@140proof.com.
