Working directly with our SVP of Marketing in our New York office, you will help shape our market-facing communications, designing sales materials, keeping our web site current, writing for our blog and newsletters, concepting and creating infographics, developing and delivering swag – all to help tell the story of 140 Proof. You’ll maintain our Facebook and other pages on social networks and build our profile through excellent content and advertising.

We are looking for someone who can go from the conceptual to the tactical, who can move between Photoshop, After Effects, MailChimp and other tools of the trade. This is a roll up your sleeves job for someone who wants to make a difference in the startup world.

140 Proof's Blended Interest Graph technology combines public data from many social platforms to enable large brand advertisers to target relevant ads to groups of people based on the interests they express through tweets, follows, pins, likes, tumbls, check-ins and the rest of their social activity.

Responsibilities

    Design
  • Outward facing sales materials: keynote presentations, brochures, conference spaces, giveaways.
  • Maintain brand guidelines and ensure all communications fit within our brand system.
  • Prepare materials for 140proof.com. Lay out newsletters and blog posts, acquiring image rights or taking original photography and video where necessary.
  • Oversee concepting of ad ideas in collaboration with sales team and junior designer, maintain quality of mockups.
  • Develop, adapt, and maintain templates for a large variety of materials, from proposals to reports to mockups (generally in Keynote).
    Writing
  • Participate in brainstorms around topics for bylines to be published in trade publications.
  • Contribute short pieces (usually observations about digital marketing or comments on current trends or news) to our blog, social accounts, and outside publishers.
  • Write blurbs to promote content in newsletters.
  • Promote content through social channels.
    Production
  • Publish newsletter, implement changes to our site (in collaboration with Engineering where necessary).
  • Develop company swag & client gifts; distribute and manage fulfillment.
  • Plan logistics and oversee execution of occasional events, including meetups, conference sponsorships, dinners with journalists, and executive roadshows.

We are looking for a broadly capable marketing mind with a great combination of skills. We are not looking for a Designer who is a Copywriter who is a Project Manager; we understand that unicorns don’t exist but that people with wide ranging interests and great attitudes towards learning are all around us.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a role that demonstrates media/social industry knowledge and communication ability. These may be (but aren’t limited to) media or creative agency, PR company, sales side ad tech or publisher.
  • History of using Keynote or PowerPoint at a high level of functionality as a visual communication tool. 140 Proof uses Keynote exclusively.
  • Good writing skills, inclusive of personality
  • Digital Production skills: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects (in that order of importance)
  • A solid education or professional experiences that make a formal education irrelevant

This role reports to the SVP of Marketing, based in NY.
